Your garage door cables are located on either side of your garage door and connect to a cable drum that runs vertically. Your garage door cables work closely with your garage door springs. If you notice your garage door cables are loose and are out of the drum, then we should be able to reconnect them to the drum. If you notice your garage door cable is snapped or broken, then you will need a garage door cable replacement. Because cables work in tandem, you should always have both replaced at the same time even if only one snaps.

You may see your garage door issue, and believe you can repair the problem yourself. But we do not recommend you working on your garage door unless you are professionally trained. Your garage door is the largest moving object in your home and can be very dangerous to work on if you don’t know what you’re doing.
